What do you think about
traffic wardens? I don’t drive, so I don’t
really care about them either way. They’ve got to do
their job, though, like anyone else.
Which Bonfire Society do you go to?
We joke about going to Waterloo every year but end up at Commercial
Square. It’s local.
Which newspaper do you read?
I don’t read newspapers. In the music press I like The
Clash. It’s a new magazine: the writing’s opinionated
but not over-opinionated. It doesn’t use too much jargon
like the NME.
Are you pro or anti the Phoenix development?
I like the idea of a new area in Lewes. I’d like a cinema,
and it would be nice to have a waterfront. But I’m not
into eight storey blocks.
Favourite Lewes landmark? The
Grange Gardens, a focal point for Lewes youth.
How would you spend a perfect Sunday
afternoon? In the Grange Gardens, drinking White Lightning
cider.
What cd is in your hifi? Cocoa
Rosie. Cool anti-folk from New York. Great sounds.
Lewes would be better if…
I complain, but you have to have things to complain about,
I suppose. I probably wouldn’t change it. I like the
way things are.
What Lewes really doesn’t need
is… An incinerator on its doorstep.
The Kooks are supporting The Rolling Stones at the Millennium
Dome in Cardiff on August 29th. They play the Brighton Dome
on September 28th.
