What do you think about traffic wardens? It’s the legislation that is the problem, not the wardens. They’re just doing their duty.
Which newspaper do you read? The Guardian
Are you pro or anti the Phoenix development? I’m more anti than pro. I know it will bring more custom to Lewes, but I think the wonderful thing about Lewes is the eclectic mix of different period architecture and the lack of big modern characterless buildings. Also I think that the view from Tesco of the industrial estate is intoxicatingly charming. And that it would be a sin to knock down the Wenban-Smith timber yard.
Favourite Lewes landmark? I like walking down Church Twitten past the Thebes Gallery. It is a quintessentially charming and romantic place to be on a rainy autumn evening.
How often do you go to London and Brighton? Brighton about twice a year. London, not as often as I would like, because of my business. About three times a year to catch important exhibitions.
How would you spend a perfect Sunday afternoon? Walking my dog Paolo around Barcombe.

Lewes would be better if… it managed to retain its market town character and not evolve into a chic place littered with too many lifestyle shops.
What Lewes really doesn’t need is… A Tory-Labour MP. Actually it doesn’t matter. They’re all the same bandits.
