Barn Dance at the Pells Pool

The Pells Pool is now fully heated and a ten-person Jacuzzi bath has been fitted on the side. OK, that’s not strictly true, but it is a heck of a lot warmer than it was a few weeks back and if you jump around enough you can make a lot of bubbles. Seriously though, if the thought of outdoor swimming appeals to you, but for various reasons you still haven’t quite made it down to the pool so far this season, tonight is a great time to try it out. As well as a chance to have an official late night swim in the fantastic pool, (which I’ve recently been informed is actually 46 metres long, so I’ve been swimming further than I thought), tonight a barbecue is also on, so pack a picnic and a couple of steaks and head for the Pells - it’s got to be better than Eastenders, Corrie and Big brother hasn’t it?

However, if you’re still not tempted by the pool, there will also be a barn dance taking place featuring a band appropriately enough called ‘The Splash’. Apparently in barn dances, you have a caller to keep control of events, and directing proceedings tonight will be Tony Dunn. Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with the art form, as it’s apparently going to be a relaxed affair, with extra help for the less courageous from a bar featuring some of Mr Harveys finest ales. Dosie-doe your partners… NW
