Olly Smith continued
Which newspaper do you read?
The Independent.
How often do you go to London and Brighton?
Three or more times a week for filming. The studio is in Wandsworth
but this week was great filming Saturday Kitchen in Lewes
High Street - look out for it this Saturday morning on BBC1
(22nd).
Are you pro or anti the Phoenix development?
Don’t know enough to say but the vibe is distinctly
anti.
Favourite Lewes landmark? I love
the War Memorial and the Harveys Brewery but currently the
Heart of Reeds wins my vote. Have you seen the colourful plant
diversity down there? And the baby cygnets? Fantastic.
How would you spend a perfect Sunday
afternoon? Either gardening or a long walk with my
border terrier Barney followed by an afternoon at The Jolly
Sportsmen with Sophie and Ruby (wife and daughter).
What’s on your hifi? Wolfmother.
They fuckin’ rock.
Lewes would be better if…
the A27 was resurfaced with quieter tarmac and if they erected
soundboarding on either side of it. Also can my neighbours
please get rid of their infernal windchimes. Three sets is
excessive.
What Lewes really doesn’t need
is… Generic chain stores and the hooting zombies
who waft through them wagging the tails that they don’t
even have. That and more windchimes.
