We’ve had a difficult start this season.
We’ve played the Ryman’s League Champions and
the Doctor Marten’s League champions and two of the
best sides in Welling and Havant, as well as a local derby.
At the moment we’re missing some key players. Siggy’s
power at the front, Simon Wormull’s distribution in
midfield, Dean Hooper’s defending and Kenno’s
physical presence in midfield. So I’m not worried that
we are in mid-table at the moment. As I’ve said before
it’s not worth looking at the league table for a bit:
if we’re still mid-table at Christmas, that’ll
be the time to start worrying. There are still 115 points
to play for, and it’s a marathon, not a sprint. Our
next game is away at Cambridge. They have a lovely pitch,
so we’ll be able to play our passing game, but they’re
a good team, and it’s always close between us. I’m
hoping to see one or two of our injured players back. In the
meantime expect to see a couple of new faces in the near future…
