That’s it for another week then, a
week in which winter reminded us of its eventual and inevitable
arrival with a crisp chill in the evening air which belied
the sunny, almost summery feel of the daytime. This issue
would not have been possible without the help of a number
of people to whom we are, as always, grateful. A round of
applause, then, please, to Tony Penrose, Colin Thubron, Mike
Edwards, Amanda Grant, Phillipa Grant, Shirley Edwards, Kathryn
Turner, Obafemi Martins, Tom Homewood, Gavin Burke, Terry
Owen, Arabella Hayes, Mike Edwards, Jenny from Chailey, Ian
Harris and Mike Lance.
Contributors this week were: Katie Moorman, Jess Wood, William
Leith, Ben Katz, Scott Chowen, Dexter Lee, Antonia Gabassi,
Emma Chaplin, Karen Anderson, Nick Williams, Dave Wilson and
Alex Leith.
Next week’s highlights include:
Thursday 28th September: Impressions of China: dragon dancing
and other Chinese cultural events at the Town Hall
Thursday 28th: Stanley Robertson, Scottish folk-storyteller
and balladeer at the Royal Oak
Friday 29th: Paradise Now: topical film about suicide bombers
at the All Saints (right)
Saturday 30th: talk on Velazquez in Southover Grange
Tuesday 3rd October: Benefit concert for DOVE anti Newhaven
incinerator concert, at the All Saints
