This week’s top picture was sent in by Andy Grant who took it in Castiglione del Lago in Umbria, Italy, at the end of August, while he was on holiday there with friends and family. “It was an extreme thunderstormy day,” he remembers. "But it didn’t seem to bother my daughter, Adela, who carried on striding up the road as we huddled in a doorway. I like the picture because it conjures up a possible narrative. I like the watery wash effect the rain gives the image. And I like the kid scurrying across the road in the background.” Andy took the picture on a Pentax Optio S40 digital camera.
