This week’s Photo of the
Week is by John Easterby, who works for the Lewes-based creative
installation company, Standard8. “We were putting up
an exhibition of the Japanese Magnum photographer Hiroji Kubota
in the new More London space on the South Bank between Tower
Bridge and London Bridge,” he says, “and I spotted
this irresistible image. Matt (Haycocks, one of the directors
of the company) was climbing over Mount Fuji, with a London
sky in the background. It was a great contrast of scale and
offered a wonderful trompe d’oeil.” He took it
on his Canon EOS D5 digital camera, and, despite appearances
it hasn’t been through Photoshop, or even cropped. You
can see more photographs of the exhibition on the company’s
website
Standard8 are currently installing an exhibition of school
kids’ photographs between the Jubilee Library and the
Dome as part of Brighton’s Photography Biennale. |
