We started as we meant to go on and were in front after six minutes. Wormy crossed from the left, the keeper dropped it, and Juke Box knocked it in, his third goal in four games. Then we just bombarded them - we missed a series of one on ones with the keeper, then on 36 minutes Boothie headed a cross from the left onto the bar, Siggy hit the rebound onto the post and Gary Holloway hit that rebound into the net from four yards out.

The second half went all the same way. Ten minutes in Boothy slipped through and chipped the back-pedalling keeper from 30 yards. Ten minutes later, after a corner, the ball fell to Ian Simpemba who dummied a cross, checked inside and chipped the ball to the far post for Boothy to head home. I gave Lee Farrell a run-out and he had two one-on-ones with the keeper. We absolutely smashed them. It wasn’t the best chance to assess our new keeper, Danny Crane, but I was pleased with the way that he communicated with the defence. The keeper can see the whole game in front of him, and the more he can get that knowledge to the defenders the better. It was a great mood on the coach back home. We were all talking about who we might get in the next round. Simon Wormull said “I’ve got this feeling. I bet we get Crawley…” We did, and we can hardly wait, though it’s vital to put it to the back of our minds and concentrate now on the next league game, on Saturday, Farnborough away.
