That’s it then, in a week in which certain pub regulars took arms against a sea of troubles, bangers started shattering the night-time calm with reassuring regularity, and Lewes FC drew local rivals Crawley in the FA Cup. A week in which meteorologists announced the longest summer ever, and leaves stuck stubbornly to their branches.
