Name: Stephen Watts.
Profession: I’m the Senior Custodian and Wedding Organiser at Anne of Cleves House and Lewes Castle.
Are you local: if not how long have you been here? I moved to Lewes from North London in 1990 whilst studying at Sussex University, so it’s been almost 17 years now. Gosh the years have flown.
Best thing about Lewes? I’m torn between the view down School Hill and the Pells Pool.
Worst thing about Lewes? The fact that there’s no purpose-built cinema.
Favourite pub? The Kings Head as HQ of Southover Bonfire Society and because you never know who you might be talking to at the bar. It could be a world famous opera singer, an actor or a traffic warden!
What’s your poison? I wish I could say that it was Harveys as the brewery does so many good things for the town, but usually it’s a pint of lager after work and perhaps a nice bottle of wine with dinner.
Waitrose or Tesco (or neither)? Tesco for essentials, Waitrose for treats.
What do you think about traffic wardens? I feel a lot of sympathy for them. It must be a terrible job trying to implement an ill-thought-out parking scheme totally unsuitable for a town like Lewes.
Which Bonfire Society do you go to? As Chair of Southover what do you think?
Which newspaper do you read? The Guardian and the Observer, then the Sussex Express and Argus for local news.
