First gig (you played): Catford Red Cross party 1964 with The Blues Roots. I got off with Virginia Higgs. But her ma did not approve. Don't blame her.
First band you professed to hate: The Bachelors
Guilty secret: I enjoyed Kenny Ball (that was my first gig). Especially the banjo.
Fave track of all time: too many, but probably God Only Knows - The Beach Boys.
Fave LP of all time: Sergeant Pepper/Pet Sounds. I can't decide which.
Fave lyric of all time: Currently: 'Love Came On Stealthy Fingers' by Bob Dorough (recorded by Mark Murphy).
Mod or rocker? Mod.
Clash or Jam? Neither Clash nor Jam, but Motown & Atlantic soul.
Oasis or Blur? Blur - but preferably Pulp.
Lennon or McCartney? Both Lennon & McCartney - each much better with, or in competition with, the other.
Last cd bought: Donny Hathaway Live - just for 'The Ghetto'. It's a
killer groove.
Last live gig you went to: Jazz Jamaica at the Jazz Cafe.
Last live gig you played: The Joogleberry, Brighton three weeks ago.
Recommended listening: 'Massive' - Jazz Jamaica All Stars. Great imaginative arrangements, beautiful playing, rocking jazz-ska.

Ska Toons, all of a Blur: but MM prefers Pulp
