They got back in it with a soft goal. Their guy had a free header, he didn’t connect right, but it looped in over Danny Crane and under the bar. A minute later we made the game safe when Jamie Cade reacted brilliantly to knock the ball in after the keeper had saved his earlier header.

They pulled another back - the guy put in a good shot after he hadn’t been closed down - but 4-2 flattered them. We put in a scintillating performance, we got three points in the bag, and we improved our goal difference. We’re now just four points off a play-off place. I’m more than happy.

Next up then, Oxford in the FA Trophy. It’s a bit of a distraction to our chase for promotion, but it’s a nice distraction. They’re the best team in non-league football at the moment, and it’ll be good to see how we measure up against them. It’ll be a hard game, then, but it’s winnable. They have two good lads up front, and play a very direct game in a 3-5-2 formation. But they’ve lost two and drawn one of their last three games, so if we play like we did in midfield on Saturday, we’ve got a chance. It’s a cracking tie, so let’s hope for another full house, and plenty of vocal support.
