This week’s photograph comes from Steve George, who took it in November at a waterfall near the village of Muker in Yorkshire. “My gran lived there in around 1914,” he says, “and we make a point of going back there every year. It holds a lot of personal significance because it is the spot where I got engaged to my wife.” The fact it had rained and there was a rainbow adds further impact to the shot, which we think is amazing. We love the colours, we love the light, we love the cartoonish quality of the scene. Steve took the picture on a digital Canon 5D, and although he has adjusted the levels a little, it is otherwise undoctored. Steve, who also shoots a lot using film, takes wedding photographs: you can see his stuff, which is rather different, on lewesphotography.com. As we keep saying, we love getting your photographs, so please keep sending them in.

Where there's Muker, there's class. Great photograph by Steve George
