This week’s photo was sent in by Sue Fasquelle, a regular contributor, just before New Year. “It was taken on that frosty day a few days before Christmas,” she says. “It was the first real winter’s day we’d had. I don’t like the way the distinction between the seasons is disappearing, so I felt particularly alive that morning.” She took the picture, with a Nikon Coolpix 7900, from Bradford Road, looking across Baxter’s Field. “I was struck by the frozen cobwebs all across the fence,” she says, “and particularly the way the one in the picture framed the houses on the Avenue on the other side of the field.” We also love the way the railings are silhouetted against the crisp blue sky. We’ve always wondered, by the way, why Baxter’s Field is so named. Anyone out there with any ideas? We love getting your photos, so keep sending them into info@vivalewes.com, as well as any other comments, queries, criticisms, rants or opinions.
