Now we need Lewes performers to step up to the microphone. We want singers of all ages, shapes and sizes to play the citizens of Lewes, both in the 1850’s and today, as the opera follows parallel stories in both periods. Opera voices are really not necessary - we are looking for all sorts of voices - but you do need to be able to learn and memorize music, hold onto your part against lots of other people simultaneously singing other parts, and act your heart out in the meantime. A doddle. Besides the five principal roles, which will be filled by professional opera singers, we are also looking for a large number of amateur chorus members to make up the citizenry of Lewes, as well as nine paid ensemble singers, who need to be of a professional level, able to sing solo, and to lead choral sections, and 15 children ages 9-14, to be part of a children’s chorus active throughout. Auditions will be held at the Westgate Chapel on Thursday, January 18th, and Friday, January 19th. For more information of specific audition and rehearsal times, please visit our website or email us at enquiries@paddockproductions.org.uk

Come and be a part of the noble history of Lewes. Get down and musical with our Finnish brothers. Win a free trip to Finland (well, maybe - more on that as it develops). I do hope you’ll want to take part.
