Waitrose or Tesco (or neither)? Both. As a divorced father of two I have to be practical. Though I despise the way Tesco are taking over and starting to dominate our day-to-day life. So when I can I buy things from the Farmers Market, because I believe that to keep things vibrant here we need to buy local goods from local people.
What did you have for breakfast? Porridge with sugar on it. And a cup of fair trade coffee made in a cafetiere.
Which Bonfire Society do you go to? I live in Landport so Commercial Square is my favourite. I want to join. I want to be the first Zulu who doesn’t have to black up.
Which newspaper do you read? The Guardian, when I have time, which isn’t that often. And the Argus and the Sussex Express occasionally.
What do you think of the Phoenix Development? I think what they are planning will damage the town commercially as well as environmentally.
What could you do to be greener? Get up earlier. Then I wouldn’t feel I had to drive my car into work.
How would you spend a perfect Sunday afternoon? I’d take my kids out for the day to some outdoor attraction.
What’s on your hifi? I like Latin American/Spanish music. Bossa Nova, flamenco, Latin Jazz, that sort of thing.
Lewes would be better if… There was a simplified tram system running from the Precinct to the top of Western Road.
What Lewes really doesn’t need is… Major multinational stores forcing their way into town. Lewes was voted recently the best town alongside Bangor for its small-sized specialist shops. If the multinationals arrive they would all have to close. It would tear the heart out of the place.
