We played Eastleigh again midweek at their place in Hampshire, and this time I couldn’t fault our commitment. Our defence was magnificent, and only allowed them one chance all game. We had three golden opportunities to win the match in the last twenty minutes. Leon Legge missed one, and Siggy, who’d come on as sub, missed a couple of one-on-ones he really should have scored. They just don’t seem to be going in for us at the moment. It finished 0-0.

Siggy was on the bench for the game, mainly because we only had four subs, and he’d travelled with us. But Boothy got something in his eye and had to come off, and Jamie Cade got injured, so we had no choice but to bring him on. He’s rusty, Siggy, clearly, because he hasn’t played for two months. Man, a fully fit Siggy would have eaten up those two chances.

We haven’t been playing well then, as a team, and the goals are hard to find up front. But when this is the case a manager looks at the commitment of his players, and in Hampshire I couldn’t fault that. We got 100% from them. I can’t ask for more than that.
