That’s your lot then, in a week in which the sun finally came out to illuminate a sodden town limping towards spring. February, eh? Thank god it’s the shortest month. Also a week in which Britney Spears shaved her head and both the Independent and the Guardian saw fit to dedicate nearly a page to the matter. And a week in which scientists revealed that it might already be too late to save the ice-caps, meaning a 4-6 meter rise in the sea level over the next few centuries. This would mean that in Lewes only the castle and the highest of the Phoenix buildings would still be visible.

This week we’d like to thank the following people, without whom we couldn’t have put the edition together: Simon Fordham, Megan Rowse, Leon Rosselson, Michael Marwood, Nick Carrick, Chris Hesketh, Sam Walker, Richard Smith, Fred Wood, William Rodriguez, Maria Kuipers, Tom Reeves, Greg Whelan, Ian Cairns and the people who designed Sudafed.

Contributors were: William Leith, Emma Chaplin, Antonia Gabassi, Dexter Lee, Emma Robertson, Owen Postgate, Steve King, Adrienne Campbell, Mark Mansbridge, Scott Chowen, Nick Williams, Katie Moorman and Alex Leith.

Next week’s highlights include:
Friday 2nd March: Acclaimed low-budget Irish film The Traveller Girl
Saturday 3rd: The Farmers Market returns to the Precinct. Why can’t we have one every week?
Tuesday 6th: And His Name Was Jim, a cowboy-themed locally produced theatre production at the All Saints
Wednesday 7th: Lewes host fully-pro Fisher Athletic at the Pan
