This week’s picture was sen in by Manek Dubash, who took it one early autumn afternoon last year off Pevensey Levels. “The sun was bathing everything in a golden light which brought out all the rich natural colours,” he says. “I was trying out a new macro lens and I wanted to thee the effects I could get from photographing fruit and other natural stuff.” He took the picture on a Nikon B70 digital camera. “I sent it in because it reminded me of what we’ve got to look forward to,” he says. “Spring has begun and we have a whole summer ahead of us.” We like the variation in colour, from green, to red, to rich deep purple. We like the point of light shining on every individual bubble of fruit. And we like the thought of the fruit of this fruit in months to come: blackberry crumble, served with ice cream, to give that great hot and cold effect. We love getting your pictures, as we don’t tire of telling you, so do keep sending them in.

Fruit of the zoom: Manek Dubesh uses his macro lens to good effect
