Recommend somewhere to eat out: The Snowdrop with my mum and dad and the kids. I love places that are child friendly and serve a great veggie roast.
What sort of business do you think Lewes needs to attract? You can’t have too many independent shops - and more craftspeople are always welcome.
Would a redeveloped Phoenix area be good for the town? I think the town is great at the moment. A developer who actually listened to what people wanted wouldn’t be unwelcome. Also the town desperately needs more affordable housing - or should that be ‘not quite so unaffordable’ housing?
What do you think about the idea of pedestrianising the centre of Lewes? I’m not sure most shopkeepers would appreciate a reduction in through traffic - and where would you park all of the cars?
Could you do anything to make your business greener? There are always ways. We no longer use plastic carrier bags, and we are constantly trying to put pressure on our suppliers to only use biodegradable wrappings such as cellulose.
Any expansion plans? We are opening a consultation room at the back of the shop, to use for herbal medicine consultations. It will also be available for other practitioners to hire.
Is there anything you always get asked? “Which ones are organic?” and “Am I too late for bread?”
