Which newspaper do you read? I'll read the Observer if I find one lying about, but I wouldn't buy one. Other than that, I'll occasionally buy the Sun to read on the train. I normally look to the BBC's website for news though. I think it's important to read the Sussex Express too. The Rodmell & Southease Parish Pump is pure comedy gold.
What's your favourite local landmark?
I've always loved wandering around the Railway Land on summer days.
How would you spend a perfect Sunday afternoon? I'd probably go for lunch in a pub then spend the rest of the day in a few other pubs. If it was a perfect Sunday, it wouldn't be followed by a Monday.
What did you have for breakfast? A strong cup of coffee and a packet of salt and vinegar Hula Hoops.
What film would you recommend to a friend? I'm a huge horror film fan and anyone so inclined should definitely see Creep. It's set on the London Underground and I found it genuinely scary, which is quite a rarity. Other than that, recent films I've seen that I'd recommend are Pan's Labyrinth and a Korean film called Old Boy.
Are you pro or anti the Phoenix development? I'm anti the current proposals. As I see it, if Angel get their way we'll have a hideous mini-Newhaven in our town, totally out of character with the rest of Lewes and populated with fresh waves of Londoners looking for a place in the country and pricing those of us who grew up here and work here even further out of the housing market. If nobody builds any affordable housing round here soon or caps the number of outsiders moving in, it's only a matter of time before nobody who works in Lewes will actually live here.
