That’s that then, after a week in which April neared its end with only a tiny smattering of the entity which it is famous for and the parks of Lewes took on a hard-baked look more akin to what you’d expect in August. A week in which a Polish man ran into a restaurant in London, and cut off his penis in front of horrified diners. And finally, and sadly, a week in which England World Cup 66 winning hero Alan Ball died, aged 61.

This week we’d like to thanks the following people, without whom the issue would not have been possible: Caroline Baron, Clarissa Bell, Ed Smith, Susan Tomes, Julian Broughton, Gregory Chuter, Anne Locke, Alex Francis, Henry Hitchings, Andrea Mindel, Tom Reeves, Andy Grant, Sonya Baksi and Laurence Lerner.

Contributors this week include: Emma Chaplin, Owen Postgate, Emma Robertson, Adrienne Campbell, Steve King, Susannah Waters, Dexter Lee, Antonia Gabassi, Adrienne Campbell, David Jarman, Paul Myles, Rachel Littlejohn, Scott Chowen, Nick Williams, Katie Moorman and Alex Leith.
