Gig - Led Zep Too
Led Zep Too have visited Lewes a number of times, and are back again to offer classic-rock fans a chance to hear ‘Zeppelin covers played like it was 1969’. Holding proudly to their title as the 'most accurate sounding' Led Zeppelin live tribute band, the four proficient members often use authentic vintage equipment and seek to recreate the arrangements of ‘Zeppelin songs as they were performed live. Their sound has been described by veteran rock-critic Mr. Mills as having captured “the very essence of Led Zeppelin”; a statement that may sound typical of tribute band bravado; but supported by the fact that myspace moderators have removed the covers played by Led Zep Too from their site no fewer than five times; paranoid that allowing such material to remain may infringe copyright law. Amongst the glut of ageing Led Zeppelin tribute bands still cranking out covers of 'Dazed and Confused' and 'Stairway to Heaven'; and given the controversy the original band themselves courted back in the day over mimicking other artists; myspace’ jumpy suspicions are a fittingly ironic compliment, although one would imagine something of a back-handed one for the poor chap who’s forced to constantly rebuild the site.
