This week’s picture was sent in by regular contributor Steve George, who took it near Richmond in Yorkshire. “I was looking for a fallen tree, funnily enough, for a sequence that I’m preparing for exhibition in Artwave in September. And I found one.” Using a Canon 5D he took the picture on a long exposure with a neutral density filter. “In that way it looks like it’s underexposed,” he says. Then he did ‘a bit of dodging and burning around the edges to focus attention on the tree.’ We love the contrast between the clarity of the tree and the blurriness of the reflection, and the deep, dark moodiness of the water. As we keep saying we love getting your pictures, so keep on sending them in.
