Recommend somewhere to eat out: I’ve always had good food and service at Prezzo - and they have a lovely sun terrace.
What sort of business’s do you think Lewes needs to attract? Lewes is famous for its range of Independent traders, who bring many people to the town. So more Independent traders please.
Would a redeveloped Phoenix area be good for the town? It might attract more people, but will they venture out in to the existing town? For example, if there’s more to Crawley than the shopping centres, you wouldn’t know from visiting the place. It’s already difficult enough to get people up to our end of the town.
What do you think about pedestrianising the centre of Lewes? In theory a great idea. The reality however, is that it would be a disaster due the lack of access and parking. It’s already bad enough with the wardens.
Could you do anything to make your business greener? We’d be happy to recycle more. At the moment however, the council don’t collect recycled goods from traders, which is a pity.
Any expansion plans? Not in floor space, however we’re always expanding our range of products and would consider another location if anywhere was as good as Lewes.
Is there anything you always get asked? “Will it go rusty?” The answer is that if you leave anything outside and neglect it, of course it will.
Give a top tip to our readers: If you see something you really want, buy it because you’ll only live to regret it if you don’t… NW
