That’s your lot then, in a week in which the heavens opened over Lewes and the rest of the country, and many a Bank Holiday weekend was ruined as all but the most doughty were forced indoors. Good for agriculture, great for gardens, pretty bad for general morale. Also a week in which five Britons were kidnapped in Baghdad, and a latterday Noah’s Ark was found off the coast of China. No Noah, though: 5,000 of the world’s rarest animals were discovered stranded on an abandoned vessel including pangolins, giant turtles and monitor lizards.

This week we’d like to thank the following people, without whom the issue would not have been possible: Helen Turner, Sarah O’Kane, Oscar Mawby, Joe Davies, John Eccles, Peter Cheek, Paul Gregory, Steve King, Tom Reeves…

Contributors this week are: Rachel Littlejohn, Emma Chaplin, Emma Robertson, Antonia Gabassi, Steve King, Nick Williams, Scott Chowen, Katie Moorman and Alex Leith.
