"At the audition for The Finnish Prisoners I was really nervous. I always am when I am in a room with lots of people I don’t know. Also, none of my friends were at the audition. First, we did an acting exercise when half the people there pretended to be important people and the other half pretended to be unimportant people. My nervousness released a bit when I realised that most of the children there were as nervous as I was.

Next, we started singing our songs that we had practised at home to everyone there and Susanna asked us to put our hands up when we wanted to go next. Finally, I reached up to scratch my head and Susannah picked me. It felt like my heart had stopped beating. All the pressure was back. I got up and walked to the place overlooking everybody in the room. I was going to sing Close Every Door from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I had been practising it a lot with my dad so I knew it quite well.
