What is your favourite shop in Lewes? I’ll name two, which are the Still Room and Renwick Clarke.
Recommend somewhere to eat out? Lazzati’s for spaghetti with chilli oil, parmesan and rocket.
What sort of businesses do you think Lewes needs to attract? It would great to see an old fashioned tea shop.
Would a redeveloped Phoenix area be good for the town? I have reservations. I fear it would split the town in two, leaving us with old 'independent' Lewes and a new town full of multiples.
What do you think about pedestrianisation in Lewes? It would appear to make sense for Cliffe, because they already have parking spaces. The rest of the town however needs to keep the through traffic to remain viable.
Could you do anything to make your business greener?
We always recycle all our cardboard, paper, plastic and bottles. It would nice to see the council offering to collect it; after all we already pay substantial business rates
Any expansion plans? We just have. However, the product range is always expanding, and the new shop has enabled us to sell more sandwiches and bread.
Is there anything you always get asked? “Do you sell salami?” (No); “Can we eat in?” (Sadly, not yet…); and “Do you sell sandwiches” (A wide variety - as long as you like cheese!)
Give a top tip to our readers: A small piece of quality farmhouse cheese is a much better option than a large chunk of flavourless factory cheese. NW

You can have your cheese display and eat it
