Weather forecast
More rain, we’re afraid. Temperatures will continue to be average for June (just under 20 degrees) but any periods of sunshine will soon turn to showers and even thunderstorms throughout the next week as a period of low pressure continues to dominate our skies, making this a pretty unmemorable June. An Azorean front should improve things in July, but nothing’s in black and white yet. Click here for BBC local 5-day forecast

Train News
Is again excellent. National Rail Enquiries inform us that there will be no engineering works affecting Lewes Station for at least the next two weeks. No buses to Three Bridges, no congestion in Station Road, no two-hour journeys back from Victoria.

28 Days Later (Sun 24th June, 10pm, Channel 4). Danny Boyle-directed dystopian movie worth watching if only for its opening scene, where Cillian Murphy walks through a deserted Piccadilly Circus which still has people asking “how the hell did they do that?”
This week’s Private Passions (Sunday 10th, 12 noon, Radio 3) features former Tiswas comedian Lenny Henry, who chooses records by Donizetti, Mozart and Spit the Dog.
