What sort of business do you think Lewes needs to attract? I was going to say a decent baker/patisserie, but apparently one’s just opened just around the corner in Station St, which is great news.
Would a redeveloped Phoenix area be good for the town? From a business perspective any development which results in more people and therefore more potential customers is a good thing. Equally however, we wouldn’t want a string of new mobile phone shops opening up.
What do you think about the idea of pedestrianising the centre of Lewes? Generally I think it would be a good idea to encourage more people to arrive on foot - but the parking needs sorting out as well.
Could you do anything to make your business greener? We probably should make a bit more effort with our paper and card recycling. On the mobile front, we always encourage our customers to leave their old mobile equipment with us, and, if they do, we hand them over to a couple of charities who refurbish and recycle them.
Any expansion plans? Yes. We are actively looking for a second shop in Sussex, and are also on the lookout for a larger Lewes store with more office space.
Give a top tip to our readers: Watch out for the traffic wardens in Lewes - unfortunately we don’t think they’re helping business in the town at all
Is there anything you always get asked? Phone-wise people are always coming in looking for a basic handset (and the good news is we have plenty). Otherwise, it’s 'I never knew you were here, are you new?' - and they are surprised to find out we’ve been here for more than three years. NW
