So that’s your lot, then, in a week in which flooding in the north of the country brought back a number of memories down this way, and forecasts of further rain and strong winds dramatically upped the anxiety levels in Ouse-level homes. Also a week in which secret CIA documents published for the first time revealed that the organisation hired a mafia gangster in 1960 to kill Fidel Castro, and Tim Henman rediscovered his hidden tiger to defeat Carlos Moya in the first round of another wet Wimbledon.

This week we would like to thank the following people, without whom this issue would have been little more than a shadow of its eventual self: Amy Williams, Steve Holford, David Hesse, Rob 'phone af friend' Read, Dr Dick van Steenis, John Parry, Judith Wardman, Nicholas Steele, Benedict Stenning, Jason Reeve, Philip Rhodes, Patrick Burke, Caroline Baron, Tom Reeves, Andrew Holden, Sara Abbott, Nathan Parkin, DJs T.A.S.K. and Little Rik.

This week’s contributors were: Emma Chaplin, Emma Robertson, Antonia Gabassi, Dexter Lee, Adrienne Campbell, David Jarman, Nick Williams, Scott Chowen, Katie Moorman and Alex Leith.
