Name: Andrew Holden.
Business Name: Lewes Mobile Communications.
What do you do? Along with my fellow directors Damon Newbold and Jonathan Skinner, I run a retail and corporate mobile phone sales business.
How long have you been running the business? We set the business up around four years ago and opened the shop (behind David Smith jewellers, and near the White Hart Hotel) three years ago.
What was on the premises before? Directly before us it was a computer shop, and a bridal shop before them.
Where do you get your phones from? We stock all of the major worldwide mobile communication brands.
What’s the most expensive phone you sell? We’ve just taken delivery of the new Nokia N95, which retails at £499.50.
And the cheapest? That would be a lanyard at £2.99 - which is a neck strap for your mobile.
And the most unusual? Most unusually named would be a Dongle - which is USB Wireless Bluetooth adaptor to the uninitiated.
What sort of people use the business? About 60% are business customers. Most of our consumer business is Lewes based and we get a lot of repeat business.
Is their anything that irritates you about your business? Being kept on hold by International Call Centres is definitely the biggest problem - and unfortunately it appears to be getting worse by the day.
What is your favourite shop in Lewes? We’re all fans of the Castle Sandwich Shop on the High St, and Damon is also keen on Inter Sport in Cliffe.
Recommend somewhere to eat out? We have most of our team meals at Prezzo, and the food has always been very good.
