That’s your lot then, in another week in which our resolve not to hop on a budget jet to warmer climes was further tested by sub-average temperatures, dark clouds, and various rain-types from drizzle to downpour. A week in which Gordon Brown started his new position as PM with a near-literal baptism of fire as an Asian terrorist cell created havoc across the UK with a fortuitously foiled car bomb campaign. And a week in which a pair of Englishmen capsized their dinghy off the coast of Ireland, carelessly losing a 70 million quid load of cocaine in the process.

This week we would like to thank the following people, without whom this vibrant issue would have been but a mocking spectre of its eventual self: Chris Todd, Neville Grant, Stevie Auden, Julian Bell, Caroline Baron, Sean O’Kane, Jane Vokins, Libby West, Cressida Bell, Tom Reeves, Chloe Alexander, Jo Caleb, Phil Pickett and Susannah Waters. Apologies again to the latter and everyone involved for our Handbook gaffe.

This week’s contributors are: Emmas Chaplin and Robertson, Antonia Gabassi, Dexter Lee, David Jarman, Adrienne Campbell, Scott Chowen, Nick Williams, Katie Moorman and Alex Leith.

Next week’s highlights include:
Friday 13th (ooh dear etc etc): Moving on Children’s Parade
Friday 13th: Rude Mechanical commedia dell’arte troupe in th Gun Garden
Saturday 14th: Societies Fair in the Town Hall
Saturday 14th: Artizans screenprint exhibition in the HQ Gallery

Let’s hope the Rude Mechanics don’t get rusty in the Gun Garden rain
