What is your favourite shop in Lewes? Renwick Clarke and Capriccio for clothing, Tizz’s for t-shirts, Bill’s for food and Harvey’s for their excellent wine collection.
Recommend somewhere to eat out.
Circa at Pelham House serves food to my taste and it’s at its best when enjoyed dining al fresco in their wonderful garden.
What sort of business do you think Lewes needs to attract? More independents to keep up the town’s established reputation. Also a few more practical shops would be welcomed by many.
Would a redeveloped Phoenix area be good for the town? I think the current plans are completely wrong and would simply create a new town completely dwarfing the established old town. If they could resolve the flooding problems, some low cost housing may be welcome.
What do you think about the idea of pedestrianising the centre of Lewes? It will work in Cliffe, because it’s virtually pedestrianised already. I don’t think it would be suitable anywhere else.
Could your business be any greener? I’m about to change the shop lights to long life bulbs and will enthusiastically use the council cardboard recycling scheme when it’s eventually brought in.
Any expansion plans? No. Small is beautiful.
Give a top tip to our readers: Never forget your father’s birthday - they sometimes, sadly, get left out.
Is there anything you always get asked?
Q1 - Do you make them yourself?
A1 - I’ve never made a chocolate in my life, and don’t intend to. I leave that to the professionals
Q2 Does anyone find you down here?
A2 I wouldn’t have been in business for twenty years if they didn’t… NW

A great way not to forget your father’s birthday (and let’s hope this
jogs at least one memory)
