Weather forecast
The jet stream is a narrow band of fast flowing air which flows from west to east at mid latitudes, which signals the boundary between polar air to its north and warmer air to its south. This summer it is flowing across the Atlantic further south than normal, which explains why temperatures are colder than average. No change in this situation is predicted over the next few days, so expect yet more rain between sunny intervals. Click here for BBC local 5-day forecast
