This week’s picture from Reeves was taken on the 4th of November 1960, and after that years flood and features the No 180 (Heathfield) bus, a double-decker Routemaster, stranded on Malling Road, outside the Wheatsheaf pub. Look closely to the right of the bus, and you can see two policemen on the roof of a truck, presumably engaging in some sort of rescue work. The next day’s Bonfire Night festivities were cancelled, the only time this has happened in living memory.
