Ever wondered what Lewes would look like as a hillside Tuscan village? Look no further. This week’s photo, ‘Lewes in Wonderland’, is a happy accident at the hands of our local international tenor Paul Austin Kelly. “I accidentally reduced a panorama composite of eleven combined photos of Lewes and Malling without constraining proportions,” he says. “I love the result.” We do, too, particularly the craggy version of Caburn in the distance, the wonderful way the Ouse leads into town, and the monstrous cliff on the side of ‘Lewes Hill’. Pity he didn’t manage to change the weather, as well, though the orderly ranks of rain cloud do explain why this scene is so amazingly verdant.
