What sort of business do you think Lewes needs to attract? Well, we were originally attracted by the presence of so many independent traders.
Would a redeveloped Phoenix area be good for the town? I’m not fully aware of the plans, but anything that takes away from the independent feel of the town doesn’t sound like a good idea to me.
What do you think about the idea of pedestrianising the centre of Lewes? I think a lot of people drive through the town looking at the various shops, so too much pedestrianisation could lead to a loss of passing trade.
Could you do anything to make your business greener? We already use brown bags, instead of plastic and recycle all of our packaging - but are always willing to do more.
Any expansion plans? We’d like a larger shop in Lewes at some point and possibly shops in some of the other main towns in Sussex. We are also looking to expand our mail-order business, which is an increasing part of our turnover.
Is there anything you always get asked? So far there has been one particularly regular question:
Q - Have you been here long?   A - Just over three weeks so far.
Give a top tip to our readers: If you've got kids under seven, get them a Like Bike (it’s a new type of bike which trains kids to ride a bike without the need for stabilisers - the bikes look great and really work).
