That’s your lot then, in a week in which we all checked out the level of the Ouse as the rain teemed down and Tewkesbury copped it after the Severn flooded its banks, causing, would you believe it, a tap-water crisis. Also a week in which 150 people, many of them in fancy dress, queued till midnight in the Precinct to get their hands on the latest, and last, Harry Potter. And a week in which the whole of India prayed for rain in England, and got it, as their cricket team managed to draw a match which they had already all but lost.

This week we would like to thank the following people without whom this would have been a thin pamphlet as opposed to the beach-read blockbuster it turned out to be: Arthur ‘God of Hellfire and Damnation’ Brown, Devon Sproule, everybody at the Lewes Guitar Festival, Peter Finger, Michi Mathias, Johnny Darlington, Mike Lance, Annabelle Curtis, Frank Jarman,

This week’s contributors were: Emma Chaplin, Emma Robertson, Antonia Gabassi, Catlin, David Jarman, Adrienne Campbell, Steve King, Scott Chowen, Nick Williams, Katie Moorman and Alex Leith.

Next week’s highlights include:
Friday 3rd: Fiddler Seth Lakeman in the Lewes Guitar Festival.
