This week’s picture was taken and sent in to us by Claire Carberry. Claire took it last week on her Pentax compact camera, during the unexpectedly glorious sunshine. “I’d left work earlier than usual and when I was wandering through the gardens, I suddenly thought what a great Lewes-y shot it was”, she tells me. Luckily she had her camera in her handbag after a works do. “It was quite unusual for me to have it with me. Normally I’m always seeing things and wishing that I did.” Claire was attracted by the bright colours in the garden and the way that the perspective goes right up to the castle, she tells me. We like that and the way that the eye is drawn right up to the top by the lines of the rooftops. As we keep saying we love getting your pictures so keep sending them in.

Lewes's radical pedigree even extends to a riot of colour
