Lewes Priory Ruins Tour
Every time you use the train to Brighton, you catch a glimpse of some ancient church ruins situated just south of Southover High Street. They are in fact just a small part of what was originally a massive construction; in its day on a par in terms of size and importance with any of the great ecclesiastical buildings in the land. Normally this is about as close up and personal you get to the buildings. However luckily for us, today is one of those rare occasions when you can actually access the ruins for a closer look. So if you fancy hearing all about the sites magnificent history and also to get a chance to tour the ruins of the ancient Lewes Priory, head down there today. The tours are free, but you’ll have to be quick, as they only take place between 2pm and 4pm.
